Bird Box
Corner Brook, NL — photogravure (intaglio) / photo-gravure (intaglio) — 2001
David Morrish explores the rich and troubled history of the original museum, the ‘wunderkammer,’ or cabinet of wonders. Bird Box harkens back to a time, not so long ago, when ‘nature’ was something to be owned, dominated, killed, and collected.
David Morrish is a multimedia artist specializing in photography who worked as a professor of art at the Memorial University of Newfoundland for 27 years. He has exhibited his work and lectured extensively, and also co-authored a book on photogravure. He now lives in Ameliasburg, Ontario.
